Our current dedicated practice space is a 700 square foot loft room above the retreat facility. The space holds 18 yoga masts /students or 20 seated guests comfortably. Windows on all sides allow for natural light throughout the day. There is an easy-to-use propane fireplace in the fall and winter months that adequately heats up the space. In summer, it does get warm here, however there is usually a nice ocean breeze coming through which helps keep temperatures bearable in the summer.
We have some yoga/meditation props available for teachers use. Ask the Retreat Coordinator for details on the list of props. You are also free to bring your own and anything else you would need for your teaching.
The Main house serves as the common gathering space for our community. The house is located at the highest point on the land, with expansive views to the east and south towards the valley and neighboring hills. Large wrap around decks provide plenty of space for outdoor gathering. A large open concept kitchen and dining area where delicious meals will be served. On the same floor and separate from the kitchen area, there is a simple living room/library for socializing or mingling.
The main house has a master bedroom with a private bathroom suite on the ground level. This is usually reserved for the teacher that hosts the retreat. There is an additional half bath located on the ground floor off the kitchen. The second floor has three additional bedrooms and a full bathroom. Two of those bedrooms are large rooms and furnished with a Queen bed. The third room bright and spacious shared with 4 single beds.
The retreat Shala is located adjacent to the main house. The ground floor of the retreat building has 6 single rooms, simply furnished with a twin beds (4) or queen beds (2), hangers and a desk. There is a common area on the first floor which includes a refrigerator, water cooler and a wood burning fireplace (for the winter months) There is a full bathroom (shower/toilet) located on the first floor of the retreat building. The second floor of the retreat Shala is the practice space.
The land consists of 30 acres of mostly oak and grass covered rolling hills. Common wildlife includes deer, turkey, and hawks. Less common, but present, are mountain lions, black bears, wild pigs, and snakes. Paths throughout the property between buildings are well maintained and well lit for safety.
Guests can chose between preparing their own food, or having food catered by local providers. Caterers can customize menu to accommodate most food allergies and dietary preferences.
Our long term goal is a sustainable farm to table operation, sourcing all food for staff and guests from our own land.
Phase 1 of this project will involve chickens for eggs, goats for milk and cheese, and a medium size vegetable and herb garden.
To the extent we are not able initially to source all the food from our land we intend to source food from nearby local organic farmers.
